Avenue of the Giants Elopement | Redwoods National Park

In 2012 I was living in North Carolina when I met Nicole on Twitter… CRAZY RIGHT!?! We became friends via social media and finally met in person. She has been watching my photography journey since then…. the second she got engaged to Nick I knew that I needed to be their photographer somehow, some way. When they booked me, they were originally planning to have a wedding in North Carolina. The more time that passed and the deeper they got into the planning process, they realized that eloping sounded more up their alley. They ditched their big wedding plans, came to me and asked me if I would be open to traveling to California to photograph their elopement in the Redwoods. This has been a dream of mine for YEARS so of course I started jumping for joy!

The day finally comes, we pack our bags and fly across the country! When I got to the Avenue of the Giants, I couldn’t find my jaw. It was such an incredible sight to see. Location scouting was so tough. Trying to narrow down one specific location for the ceremony when I wanted to shoot EVERYWHERE was so hard! LOL!

We all made our way into the woods, Nicole and Nick finally say their vows under the tall canopy of the trees. It was incredible. We were all crying. It was beyond special. Such a dream. We ran around in the woods, taking photos everywhere. Went back to their Airbnb and they shared their first dance in private (plus me) in the backyard under the string lights, jumped in their second outfit and then we all went to dinner at one of the only restaurants in town. We ate, drank and reminisced on the evening. It was amazing.

I feel so honored that I was able to capture these memories for them.

Nicole finally got her final rose.
